ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

THE POSITION

Under the direct supervision of the Office Manager, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing general administrative support to the Senior Management staff & TNDC’s departments and programs. This position is full-time (40 hours per week), non-exempt.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide general administrative and clerical support to the Office Manager, Senior Management staff & TNDC Departments and Programs
  2. Respond to inquiries of housing applicants, job applicants, and other guest to TNDC’s Main Office
  3. Assist in management of TNDC’s main office; maintain office equipment, order supplies as needed, assist with office mail, submit check requests to internal Accounting Department
  4. Write correspondence for the Office Manager and other Senior Management staff as needed
  5. Provide telephone support and relief at the front desk for the Office Assistant
  6. Provide project based support
  7. Help Office Assistant with the TNDC monthly luncheon set up and break down
  8. Assist in special events and mailing
  9. Provide office orientation as required to new hires
  10. Maintain supplies and equipment in multiple offices
  11. Other Duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and a working knowledge of the Internet
  • Excellent phone and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and written composition skills
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and to follow instructions with minimum supervision
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects; flexibility and capacity to meet changing deadlines

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree or two-year associate degree with two years related experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office, and Windows

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years office experience
  • Bilingual – Spanish, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Chinese or Mandarin a plus

SALARY
$13.50 - $14.50 per hour plus excellent benefits
