THE POSITION
Under the direct supervision of the Office Manager, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing general administrative support to the Senior Management staff & TNDC’s departments and programs. This position is full-time (40 hours per week), non-exempt.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to the Office Manager, Senior Management staff & TNDC Departments and Programs
- Respond to inquiries of housing applicants, job applicants, and other guest to TNDC’s Main Office
- Assist in management of TNDC’s main office; maintain office equipment, order supplies as needed, assist with office mail, submit check requests to internal Accounting Department
- Write correspondence for the Office Manager and other Senior Management staff as needed
- Provide telephone support and relief at the front desk for the Office Assistant
- Provide project based support
- Help Office Assistant with the TNDC monthly luncheon set up and break down
- Assist in special events and mailing
- Provide office orientation as required to new hires
- Maintain supplies and equipment in multiple offices
- Other Duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and a working knowledge of the Internet
- Excellent phone and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and written composition skills
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and to follow instructions with minimum supervision
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects; flexibility and capacity to meet changing deadlines
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree or two-year associate degree with two years related experience
- Proficiency in MS Office, and Windows
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years office experience
- Bilingual – Spanish, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Chinese or Mandarin a plus
SALARY
$13.50 - $14.50 per hour plus excellent benefits
