THE POSITION
Under the direct supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Accountant would be responsible for accounts receivable, entering checks from rent collection for buildings, making daily deposits to the banks, bank reconciliation and other related accounting duties of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Perform daily accounts receivable functions of applying rent, accounts receivable charge transactions and coordinate reconciliations of tenant account receivable sub-ledgers.
- Perform daily cash deposits and organize cancelled checks.
- Perform bank reconciliations and journal entries.
- Process tenants' move-ins and move-outs, tenant transfers, and associated updates
- Reconcile tenants' rental accounts.
- Generate reports on delinquencies and vacancies to Property Management and Asset Management.
- Serve as liaison to the Property Management Department, handle inquiries from building managers and others.
- Prepare HD checks and draws, handle draw funds received and pay out for vendors, and ensure all HD documents, invoices, etc. are properly filed.
- Maintain supplies and equipment in accounting department.
- Work as a backup for Accounts Payable.
- Additional projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager or Director of Finance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Accounting or related field
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in Accounting in the non profit sector preferred
SALARY
$40,000 plus benefits.
