5th and Howard Street is a 31,000 square feet parcel located in the South of Market neighborhood of San Francisco. It was acquired by TNDC in 2009 and is currently used for surface parking as well as two low-rise commercial buildings. Two separate multifamily projects will be on this site – 5th & Howard Street at 909-921 Howard Street and 5th & Howard Street Tower on at 206 5th Street. These projects will incorporate both residential and nonresidential spaces, which include a community room, open space (including community gardens and green spaces), services offices, and retail spaces.
