681 Florida Street
October 09, 2017|
681 Florida Street maximizes the opportunities offered by its setting to create 130 family-friendly homes and an active new arts hub for the Mission District, inspired by the Mission’s unique blend of arts, industry, and environmental sustainability. The building’s network of interior and exterior shared spaces are designed for live-ability and community building. The building provides a large, high-ceiling, 9,140sf space suitable for production, exhibition or performance that could potentially be expanded to include a 1500sf second-floor mezzanine.
The building’s green strategies focus on the elements most meaningful to affordable housing providers and residents. A robust building envelope and efficient HVAC allow the building to surpass State energy code requirements by 15% or more. Solar preheat for hot water and Energy Star appliances further reduce energy costs.
