TENDERLOIN NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION ANNOUNCES DON FALK AS NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

SAN FRANCISCO -- Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC), the largest private nonprofit low-income provider of housing in San Francisco, today announced the appointment of Don Falk as its new executive director. Falk -- TNDC's longtime director of housing development -- succeeds former Executive Director Brother Kelly Cullen, who announced his resignation in May. Brother Kelly Cullen will remain at TNDC to provide guidance, counsel and inspiration, and will assume a key leadership position with TNDC’s resource development program, focusing on planned giving and expanding the donor base.

"The Board of Directors is very excited to be working with Don, and to build upon the incredible successes that TNDC has experienced during Kelly's tenure as executive director," stated TNDC Board President Chris Gouig.

"I'm honored to lead this organization because TNDC plays such a crucial role in the lives of low income San Franciscans," Falk commented. "TNDC is helping to develop a better inner-city neighborhood, which benefits all of us. I am excited to build on the legacy of Brother Kelly, continuing to bring positive change in partnership with our neighbors and supporters."

Falk has a long history with TNDC, serving as the organization's director of housing development for the past 11 years. He has played a principle role in guiding the organization through a period of incredible growth, as TNDC's portfolio of properties increased from nine to 24 buildings, and as the number of tenants served increased from 575 to 1,800.

Prior to that, Falk worked for 12 years at Jubilee West, a non-profit housing organization based in West Oakland.

“I have worked with Don since 1993 and I am very happy that he has been chosen to lead TNDC, “ said Brother Kelly Cullen. “Don knows very well the importance of providing quality affordable housing to our low-income tenants and how their lives and the life of the community are improved.”

Falk will assume his role as TNDC's executive director on October 3.
