SAN FRANCISCO’S PROVIDERS OF HOMELESS HOUSING AND SERVICES JOIN IN WELCOMING GLIDE FOUNDATION ’S NEW CEO St. Anthony Foundation, TNDC, Glide and Others Renew Commitment and Partnership to Find Solutions for Homeless Crisis in San Francisco WHAT: St. Anthony Foundation and Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC) – two of San Francisco’s nonprofit providers of homeless housing and services – host a welcome reception, September 5, for Willa Seldon, the new CEO of the Glide Foundation. Separately and together, these three organizations provide affordable housing, social services, recovery programs, meals and hope to thousands of San Francisco’s extremely poor and homeless populations. From meeting basic needs like food, healthcare and emergency shelter, to providing social services and permanent affordable housing – Glide, St. Anthony’s and TNDC are committed to giving homeless individuals the tools and hope they need to lift themselves out of the cycle of poverty and despair. On September 5, St. Anthony Foundation and TNDC join together to welcome Willa Seldon, Glide Foundation’s new CEO. Willa comes to Glide, most recently, from Tides Center where, as Executive Director, she helped steer one of the largest infrastructure support organizations for new and emerging nonprofit initiatives to financial stability. Willa now oversees Glide’s community-serving programs and operations, ensuring a seamless and financially stable organization that will continue to serve the community in a compassionate and generous way. St. Anthony Foundation: For 56 years St. Anthony Foundation has provided free, life-sustaining support for the poor and homeless. St. Anthony Foundation’s programs help heal individuals and families by providing a continuum of care that includes the Dining Room, Free Medical Clinic, drug and alcohol recovery programs, and an Employment Program/ Learning Center. St. Anthony Foundation does not accept any federal, state, or local government money, and is entirely funded by private donations. TNDC: Founded in 1981, TNDC’s mission is to provide safe, affordable housing with support services for low-income people in the Tenderloin community and be a leader in making the neighborhood a better place to live. TNDC now owns and manages 25 buildings that provide homes for 2,500 extremely low-income seniors, families, people with disabilities, low-income wage earners, immigrants and others in the Tenderloin and nearby neighborhoods. In addition, TNDC provides on-site supportive services and resources such as social workers and after-school programs to help residents stabilize their lives and develop a sense of community.
