Eddy & Taylor Family Housing is re-developing an existing half-acre parking lot with a newly-constructed, 8-story 113-unit mixed-use building in the heart of the Tenderloin. The project addresses a critical need for more family-sized units for the neighborhood, whose existing older housing stock is predominantly SRO’s, studios, and smaller one bedroom units. 30 units will be further restricted to housing homeless, formerly homeless or “at risk” of being homeless of which 23 are designated as Local Operating Subsidy Program (LOSP) family units and 7 are designated as Continuum of Care (CoC). For the LOSP units, a “family” is defined as a natural, adoptive and/ or foster family, which may include a “significant other” or a “domestic partner,” with at least one child in the household below the age of 18. A family may also include pregnant women with or without a partner, who are five months or more pregnant. 5 units will serve adults with developmental disability or who are exiting long-term care institutions who do not have stable housing. The units serving adults with developmental disability or exiting long term care institutions will be subsidized by CalHFA. The ground floor will include community, property management, and tenant services facilities and 5,677 square feet of retail/commercial space. TNDC will provide 24-hour property management, as well as a resident services coordinator to assist residents in connecting to social services resources in the City.
