Access For All
TNDC’s work is grounded in the daily struggles and triumphs of people who call TNDC home. We provide homes and community to 3,600 low-income seniors, families and children, people with disabilities, emancipated youth, and formerly homeless people.
82% of TNDC residents get by on less than $1,000 per month. Keeping rents affordable eases modest budgets to help tenants retain their housing for the long term.
“I hope to live here forever,” Connie says of staying in Maria Manor. “Everyone here is my friend. The building and management is so nice, and it’s a wonderful location.” She hesitates before adding, “If it weren’t for the housing of TNDC, I don’t know where I would go.”

More than 1,600 events and workshops are made available to TNDC’s 3,600 residents each year, including educational, social, and cultural gatherings.
Last year, more than 250 volunteers from corporate groups helped plant, weed, turn soil, and harvest in our TNDC’s Tenderloin Peoples Garden.
3,500+ pounds of fresh produce was distributed for free, right where it's needed most.
Each year, the San Francisco Food Bank delivers over 500,000 lbs of free food to our residents, and we partner with Heart of the City Farmers Market to collect food donations and distribute up to 30,000 lbs of free produce to our residents and neighbors.

“Throughout the years I have followed and supported the very important work of TNDC. Here is the chance for me to give a bit more. I’m going in the pool to help TNDC continue to diligently serve the Tenderloin children and families."
