Partner Profile: 826 Valencia Street

826 Valencia brings new programming to TASP

We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with 826 Valencia Street – an organization focused on building the reading skills of young people. TNDC was first introduced to 826 Valencia Street during work on development of affordable family housing in Mission Bay. They are planning an expansion into the Tenderloin, and TNDC’s Tenderloin After-School Program (TASP), has begun partnering with them.

TASP and 826 Valencia Street most recently partnered to host the African American Festival at the San Francisco Public Library on February 27th. Using the theme of #blacklivesmatter, the festival included skits, poems, dance performances, and video of oral histories, all exploring the possibilities of a future without violence.
