Garden Expansion Project
Join us today to create a solution to hunger in the Tenderloin!
TNDC’s Tenderloin People’s Garden began in 2010 with the transformation of a once vacant lot into a vibrant and vital community garden near City Hall. We’ve brought together 379 volunteers of all ages and ethnicities, to grow food and community. Our garden has harvested over 2,500 lbs of food, distributed to 400 people.
Watch this short video to learn how TNDC is planting the seeds to a healthier community!
Your donation makes a difference!
With your support, we can expand our wildly successful program! We have identified 3 new garden sites at TNDC buildings, which will feed hundreds more extremely low-income TNDC seniors, families, and individuals.
Your gift of $1,000 will pay for the tools and training to harvest and distribute fresh vegetables from one garden site for a year.
Your gift of $500 will teach 100 Tenderloin residents urban farming techniques to grow their own food.
Your gift of $250 will build one mini-greenhouse to sprout seedlings during foggy and cold winter months.
Your gift of $100 will buy one full set of communal tools: shovels, gloves, hoes and trowels.
Your gift of $50 will purchase seedlings for 300 pounds of vegetables to feed 30 people.
