The Last Splash at the Phoenix Hotel
You may have heard the sad news that the Phoenix Hotel will be closing its doors at the end of this year. For 33 years, the Phoenix has hosted this TNDC event.
This will be our LAST SPLASH at the Phoenix, but not the end of Pool Toss. We're working hard to find a new venue for the 34th Pool Toss in 2026.

The 2020 TNDC Pool Toss looked a little different, a little more animated! But one thing that didn't change was our Tossees' and donors' generous support for kids and families of the TL community.
Your Favorite Pool Toon: The Octopus by Meggie Ramm
You voted (and donated), and the winner of our 2020 Pool Toss cartoon competition was none other than the 2019 Octopus cartoon by Meggie Ramm! This exceptional octopus stole our hearts and will have a place on this page all year long. Congrats, Meggie!
What's the Pool Toss?
We know, jumping in a pool sounds kind of crazy. Since 1993, the TNDC Pool Toss has been a signature, only-in-San-Francisco kind of event. We invite local leaders and luminaries (past tossees included Robin Williams and the Oakland Raiders!) to perform an original skit and jump into the (heated) Phoenix Hotel pool in front of their friends and co-workers. Trust us, it's a blast.
Support Kids in the Tenderloin Community
Each tossee, sponsor, and ticket supports kids living in the Tenderloin who are dreaming of their futures. Over 200 kids ages 7-18 regularly attend the Tenderloin After-School Program (TASP) for tutoring help, hands-on learning, college application support, activities celebrating different cultures, and having fun with friends. Help support kids grow, thrive, and succeed!
