78 Haight
Building 63 affordable homes in Hayes Valley by 2023*
We envision a future where everyone can thrive, regardless of income, race, spoken language, gender identity, and more. 78 Haight is a key step in helping us build this future by providing 63 affordable homes for people with low incomes in San Francisco, including 32 homes for transitional age youth (TAY) from ages 18-24 who are transitioning out of foster care, 27 homes for adults earning 65% AMI or less, and 4 homes for adults earning 50% AMI or less.
Located in Hayes Valley, 78 Haight will be a seven-story building centering tenant needs. With onsite social work for youth by Larkin Street Youth Services and social work for adults provided by TNDC, 24/7 front desk coverage, and onsite Property Management, tenants will have a built-in support network to help them adjust to their new home, feel welcome, and remain stably housed.
In addition to onsite support, 78 Haight will offer a rooftop garden, bicycle parking, two community rooms—one focused specifically for youth—and a nonprofit childcare center on the ground-floor. Notably, 78 Haight will seek a LEED Gold Certification—the second highest LEED certification for sustainable construction—and include a one-of-a-kind art mural sharing untold stories of the neighborhood mounted on solar panels!
Construction is scheduled to start in spring 2023 and people to move in by late 2024.
