TNDC Celebrates the Grand Opening of Senior Housing in the Inner Richmond

Content

TNDC celebrated the grand opening of senior housing in the Inner Richmond. The building located at 383 6th Ave provides 98 homes for older adults including veterans and previously unhoused seniors. The ribbon was cut by U.S. military veteran Donald Baker, one of the first residents to move into building. The ambitious project is the first 100% affordable housing development in the Inner Richmond.

In addition to onsite support, 383 6th Ave includes a roof deck, landscaped outdoor spaces, a community room with a warming kitchen, and energy efficient fixtures and appliances. Notably, the building design incorporates features that encourage aging in place, such as wayfinding signage with large text and symbols. The ground floor features a community-serving commercial space and the building exterior includes a dramatic, large-scale mural by Oakland artist, Sorell Raino-Tsui.

Visit the building page for more information about 383 6th Ave.
