Building Housing Options for Everyone
March 10, 2015|
Unit by unit, TNDC is working to help residents of San Francisco stay in the city they love.
TNDC’s work is grounded in the daily struggles and triumphs of people who call the Tenderloin home. As the need for affordable housing expands, TNDC is growing to meet that need. Rooted in the Tenderloin, we are working throughout San Francisco to provide stable homes and services to more than 3,400 people.
TNDC is set to grow exponentially. With several new building projects alreay underway and our commitment to rehab existing properites, TNDC is making it possible for residents of San Francisco to stay in the city they love.
Beginning this year, TNDC will aquire five affordable housing properties from the San Francisco Housing Authority through their RAD program. The buildings will be rehabed and retrofitted to bring them up to code, and address any outstanding repairs.
TNDC will manage the properties and coordinate on-site, voluntary social work services and health programming for residents.
In addition to the Housing Authority acquistion, TNDC has several new construction projects in the building, planning or feasibility phase. Under construction now are 1400 Mission: below market rate condos for middle income families, Rosa Parks II: 98 studios & 1-bedrooms for low-income and formerly homeless seniors, and TNDC’s Franciscan Towers: damaged by a fire, the Towers have been completely rehabed and are set to re-open in the fall of 2015.
TNDC’s first project in the Mission Bay neighborhood is in the feasability phase, with preliminary plans for one, two, and three bedroom apartments for low-income families and formerly homeless.
These are just a few of the 15 projects TNDC has planned for the next few years. You can see a list of all of our projects on our website at www.tndc.org.
