You can give the gift of home, well-being, and voice in the way that works best for you.
1. Corporate Matching Gifts
The company you work for may have a program that can often double or triple your gift. Ask at your office!
3. Planned Giving
Ensure that affordable housing is available for San Franciscans for years to come and plan a gift through a bequest or another planned gift like a charitable trust or insurance annuity.
- Wills and Living Trusts
Giving by bequest costs nothing now, yet it can give you a great deal of satisfaction to know that your future gift will live on and help TNDC continue its good work. An outright gift from your estate is entirely free from federal estate taxes. This means that TNDC is able to use the full amount of the bequest.
There are also several types of life income gifts that first pay income to you and your family and then help TNDC. Charitable remainder trusts and charitable gift annuities are examples of type of gifts. One of the benefits of a life income gift is that they can help you dispose of liquid assets in exchange for income and tax benefits.
If you have extra life insurance coverage, you may consider transferring ownership to TNDC. You may also purchase a new policy, and later name TNDC as the owner and beneficiary. Either gift may generate a charitable income tax deduction.
- Retirement Plan Assets
You may also be able to gain a tax benefit by naming TNDC as a beneficiary of all or a portion of a retirement plan, such as an Individual Retirement Account (IRA), 401(k), or 403(b).
4. Donate Stock or Other Securities
TNDC accepts donations of stock and other securities, which can provide you with tax advantages.
5. Give through Amazon Smile
AmazonSmile is an automatic way to support TNDC every time you shop online at Amazon.com at no extra cost to you. Your Amazon.com account is your same Smile.Amazon.com account. On your first visit to AmazonSmile (Smile.Amazon.com), select “Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation” to give donations from eligible purchases to TNDC before you begin shopping. AmazonSmile will remember your selection of “Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation,” and then every eligible purchase you make at Smile.Amazon.com, will result in a donation to TNDC.
6. Give through Community Thrift Store
TNDC’s code number is 171.
