A home is the foundation of stability. With your support, TNDC has broken ground on two buildings and held a grand opening for a third this year alone. These three buildings will provide a total of 276 affordable and supportive homes for families, youth transitioning out of foster homes, and individuals with low incomes.

At each of these events TNDC celebrated project milestones with partners, community members, and elected officials. We were especially honored for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to join us at the grand opening for Casa Adelante – 2828 16th Street, co-developed with the Mission Economic Development Agency

“This place is about respect, respect for the tenants. That it’s 100% affordable housing is a remarkable thing,” said Speaker Pelosi. “It’s about dignity and how lovely it’s for the tenants.” You can view the full event on TNDC’s YouTube channel

As Speaker Pelosi shared, a building’s power resides in its community and the individual stories of finding stability and hope through housing.

Irma, a resident at 2828 16th Street, shared at the grand opening that she and her two daughters feel safe and at home. She described her neighbors and the TNDC staff who work onsite as so kind and friendly that they all feel like one big family there.

Thank you for investing in TNDC and helping us provide not just a physical home, but an onsite support network of social workers and food access through rooftop farms. These tailored services make TNDC homes unique from other supportive homes and help us build community wellbeing.

As we continue construction on 78 Haight and 180 Jones, both of which just broke ground, we draw closer to finishing another 414 homes across 681 Florida, 555 Larkin, and 921 Howard. With your support, TNDC can continue to prioritize community needs and share more stories like Irma’s.
